YEOVIL Town Reserves ran out comfortable 3-1 winners this afternoon at Cheltenham Town Reserves in the Pontins Holiday Combination League Wales and West Division.

And it was also a good afternoon for two Yeovil players who have been sidelined by injury for much of the season.

Midfielder Marc Bircham played 70 minutes of much-needed football after a string of hamstring problems since he joined the Glovers from QPR in the summer.

And winger Marvin Williams also had a run out after coming back from an ankle operation he had in September.

It was Williams who played a leading role in Yeovil's opening goal in the 18th minute when he put over a cross that was headed home by Ritchie Jones, the midfielder who is on loan at Huish Park from Manchester United.

Young striker Tom Clarke came within inches of doubling Yeovil's lead in the 57th minute but his effort hit the bar.

But fellow striker Scott Spencer, who is on trial with Yeovil from Premier League giants Everton, made it 2-0 in the 69th minute when he finished off a pass from defender Mark Lynch.

And then Wilfried Domoraud made it 3-0 to the Glovers in the 75th minute when he slotted the ball past the Cheltenham keeper.

Theo Lewis grabbed a late consolation for the Robins on what had been a good afternoon for the Glovers.
