FIREFIGHTERS were called to put out a car in fire on the M5 in the early hours today (Sunday).
Smoke was reported issuing from the engine compartment of the vehicle at around 2.30am.
Fire crews from Wellington dealt with the incident on the hard shoulder between Junctions 26 and 25 northbound.
the cause is believed to have been accidental.
