THE area around Taunton’s motorway junction would be a good place for future development according to the woman hoping to become the area’s MP at the next election.
Speaking at a networking business breakfast at Taunton School, Conservative Prospective Parliamentary candidate Rebecca Pow told more than 60 guests about her background in farming, broadcasting and business.
On Taunton Deane’s prospects, she said: “If you get the right development land in the right place you will get the right businesses.”
She later added: “I personally would promote the area around junction 25.”
She said she would like to see high-tech businesses attracted to a development at the site, rather than facilities like the Morrisons distribution centre between junctions 23 and 24 at Bridgwater.
Guests were entertained by award-winning school musician Anya Lee on the viola, accompanied by director of music Mark Cracknell. Call 01823-703119 for details of the events.
