REBECCA Pow, MP for Taunton Deane paid a visit to Mecca Bingo in Taunton on Friday to receive a cheque for a whopping £250k which has been raised nationally for the children's charity, Variety.

Rebecca said: "I want to commend everyone at Mecca Bingo, both staff and players for the incredible efforts they have put in to raise a huge amount of money for a vital charity to help our children.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Taunton venue which included calling a game of bingo.

"Bingo is not only great fun, it's also a fantastic social outlet for some people in our communities that also helps to keep the brain active and stimulated."
