A CAR was completely destroyed by fire in an early morning arson attack.
Taunton firefighters attended the incident which happened in the early hours of this morning (Monday).
When crews arrived at the scene on Rydon Lane in Taunton shortly before 1am, they found the car to be well alight and requested backup as the access was difficult.
The car was completely destroyed in the fire and the firefighters used a water jet to extinguish the blaze.
The police also attended the incident.
An investigation has now been launched after as the fire service believe the fire was started deliberately.
A spokesman from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue, said: "We called a second fire engine because of the difficulty accessing the fire.
"We had to amend the way we dealt with it.
"A length of hose was laid to enable us to get to the fire.
"We believe that the fire was started deliberately."
Local witnesses said that the fire service struggled to reach the fire due to the remote location of the car.
