A WELLINGTON-based dementia charity held a special Christmas event to celebrate the 1950s.
On Saturday, December 3, some of the team from Reminiscence Learning, a charity that aims to link up organisations in order to increase awareness of dementia, joined the Mayor of Taunton Deane, Cllr Vivienne Stock-Williams, to take part in a window display at Hatchers department store in the Orchard Centre.
Emma Green, Reminiscence Learning, said: “Members of the public stopped to look at the original memorabilia and watch the team open their stockings in front of the fire, have their hair authentically styled by the Hair Studio, lay the table and share Christmas dinner with Mayor Vivienne Stock-Williams, Rebecca Pow MP and Councillor Marcia Hill who all opened presents and shared in traditional Christmas fayre.
“At lunch time a fantastic Johnny Cash tribute entertained the passers by outside with many stopping to listen and dance, there was even a dancing pantomime horse.”
