TAUNTON Deane MP Rebecca Pow was on hand to support the Wellington Bowling Club.
The MP and Wellington's mayor Bob Bowrah, gave the thumbs up to the club's application for a grant, which has resultedin LED lights for the indoor bowling green and a new roof.
Ms Pow said: "There was an excellent crowd at the event to celebrate becoming the best club in the South.”
The club was named as the regional bowling club of the year by Bowls England.
