TAUNTON is throwing a party in memory of an MP murdered a year ago.
A grass labyrinth is being created in Longrun Meadow ahead of The Great Picnic there on Sunday from 2pm to 5pm.
People are being invited to take their own picnics to the event to commemorate the life of Jo Cox, who was repeatedly shot and stabbed in her Batley and Spen constituency in West Yorkshire.
Unemployed gardener Thomas Mair, 53, was jailed for life for the murder on June 16 last year during campaigning for the European referendum.
The event - one of 116,000 nationwide - will be opened by Taunton Deane MP Rebecca Pow and features ArtsTaunton commissioned poet Chris Jelley and artist Michelle Rumney, who are creating the labyrinth.
The initiative is promoting a comment from Jo Cox from her maiden speech in Parliament - "We have more in common than that which divides us."
