THE owner of a camper van that caught light put out the fire before firefighters arrived on the scene.
A callout to the incident on the B3224 at Nettlecombe was received at 12.43pm today (Monday).
A fire engine was sent from Wiveliscombe.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Upon arrival the crew confirmed that the fire had already been extinguished by the owner of the vehicle.
"The crews assisted the owner to move the vehicle to a safe place off the highway."
