A BANK in Wellington is closing its doors today.
It was announced in March that NatWest would be closing four Somerset branches in October.
The banking giant puts the closure down to changes in the way people choose to bank.
A NatWest spokesman said: "Since 2011 we have seen the number of transactions in the Wellington branch decline by 35 per cent, in the Burnham-on-Sea branch by 26 per cent and in the Cheddar branch by 45 per cent.
"In Wellington 54.6 per cent of customers are choosing to use our digital banking options.
"We have a national agreement with the Post Office to provide our customers with a range of banking services.
"Customers can pay money in, take money out, check balances and business customers can get coinage."
At the time of the announcement, MP for Taunton Deane Rebecca Pow, said she was "disappointed" to hear of another bank closure in the town.
