TRAVELLERS: The caravans at St Quintin Park, Bathpool
A GROUP of travellers have parked up on a plot of land on the outskirts of Taunton over the Bank Holiday weekend.
They are on the land beside a housing estate at St Quintin Park, Bathpool, not far from the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal.
A neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: "It shouldn't be allowed. People like us shouldn't be subjected to it.
"They show up, make a wreck of the place and then disappear again.
"Yesterday evening they had a strong floodlight shining."
The neighbour said there are about a dozen caravans on the site, adding: "We've called the police, but they say they can't do anything until the landowner makes a complaint."
