FIREFIGHTERS from across Somerset rushed to Crowcombe after a combine harvester and seven and a half acres of crop caught fire.
Crews from Williton, Minehead and a water bowser from Bridgwater were sent to the scene at 7.03pm today (August 25).
When firefighters arrived they discovered that a combine harvester, seven and a half acres of standing crop and five bales of hay were on fire.
Firefighters put out the fire using drag forks, beaters, a hose reel jet, a fogging unit and a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
