A TRACTOR has been completely destroyed after it burst into flames on a busy road between Taunton and Wellington.
The A38 was blocked near to the Worlds End pub after the fire at around 1pm this afternoon (February 12).
Large clouds of smoke could be seen coming from the tractor.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said the cause of the fire is accidental.
They added: "One fire engine from Wellington and a fire engine from Taunton attended this incident.
"On arrival crews confirmed the tractor was well alight and got to work preparing to extinguish.
"One tractor totally destroyed by fire.
"Extinguished using four breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one compressed air foam jet. 20m of hedgerow was also involved in fire.
"The cause of the fire was accidental."
