SHOPPERS at a Taunton supermarket called 999 after a vehicle in the car park burst into flames this afternoon (Tuesday).
Firefighters attended the incident outside Morrisons, in Dellers Wharf, at 2.30pm.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "On arrival at the scene crews reported one car well alight and set to work with two breathing apparatus wearers and two hosereel jets to extinguish the fire.
"The fire had originated in the engine bay compartment of the vehicle which was severely damaged by fire.
"The cause of the fire was accidental."
