A TAUNTON hair salon is offering people who are homeless free haircuts for one day next week.
Hairdressers at BCreative Hair, on High Path, Kingston Road, have cancelled their normal appointments for the day next Wednesday (January 15).
Instead, staff will dedicate the day to smartening up people living on the streets or without a home to go to.
Owner Emma Holt said: "We wanted to do something for people who for whatever reason are less fortunate than ourselves.
"January is the coldest month of the year, so we felt it appropriate to do something at this time.
"We held a similar event last year and it was really successful."
Anyone who is homeless who drops by on the day will also be able to help themselves to clothes, blankets and other items donated by businesses and individuals - if you would like to contribute, you can drop off items at the salon.
Food and warm drinks will also be supplied on the day to visitors who are homeless.
