CUSTOMERS at Asda in Taunton could soon get their cars washed while they shop.
Planners have given conditional approval for the facility at the Creechbarrow Road store.
The development will include a steel cabin and a canopy, along with an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera and is estimated to create four full-time jobs and four part-time roles.
It would operate from 14 existing car parking spaces and will be able to handle up to six cars at any one time.
Waves, the company behind the car wash, believe people using the facility will be customers already travelling to Asda and so it will not create more traffic.
A McDonald's franchise opened in the former cafe at the Asda store in November.
