AN area of Taunton's Vivary Park has been cordoned off after the body of a young woman was found.

The body was discovered shortly after 6am and police say her death is currently "unexplained".

The body wsa found on Wilton Lands.

A large area if taped off and a PCSO and a police officer are protecting the area.

Two police cars are in the car park.

People are unable to access the park from the car park. 

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "We're investigating after the body of a young woman was found in Vivary Park in Taunton at about 6.15am this morning.

"The death is being treated as unexplained.

"A cordon is in place while enquiries are carried out.

"Anyone who was in the park overnight who has information which could help our inquiry is asked to contact us."
