CREWS tackled a large tractor fire in a Somerset town yesterday (March 8).
The vehicle was carrying fertilizer and caught fire in a field in Wellington at around 4.30pm.
Two fire engines from Wellington as well as the water carrier from Bridgwater attended the incident.
The tractor was 100 per cent damaged by fire.
"On arrival crews confirmed the tractor was well alight," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
"On further investigation, crews were also able to confirm that the fertilizer did not contain ammonium nitrate.
"The fire was extinguished using one compressed air foam jet, two breathing apparatus, and small tools."
