A CAR was completely destroyed by fire in the early hours this morning.
Several calls to the emergency services were made regarding the incident in Wells just before 1am.
A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service said: "After a few calls to fire control, two fire engines from Wells attended Bedford Road and confirmed a car was well alight.
"Crews got to work with one hose reel jet and one 45mm jet."
Police were also in attendance.
After the fire was extinguished crews checked for hot spots using a thermal imaging camera.
The vehicle had 100 per cent damage to the front end and 50 per cent damage to the cab.
The incident has now been handed over to police to deal with.
