THE Glastonbury Festival 2022 app is now available to download from the Apple and Google Play stores ahead of this year's five-day event starting later this month.

The official app has been developed by EE, the festival's technology partner.

It allows festivalgoers to plan their personalised line-ups for the weekend and helps them find their way around the 900-acre Worthy Farm site with an interactive map.

An EE spokesperson said: “Glastonbury Festival returns in June 2022 after a two-year break, with EE the festival’s official technology partner for the seventh year running.

“We’re preparing for Glastonbury to be more connected than ever this year, and predict that Worthy Farm could see 200 terabytes of data used over the weekend.

“That’s the equivalent to viewing eight billion Instagram posts of Sir Paul McCartney’s return to the festival.”

The app will allow festivalgoers to create their own personalised line-ups for the event, find their way around Worthy Farm with a live interactive map, and set reminders for their favourite acts.

The app description says it is “a Glastonbury must-have regardless of which network you're on”.

It adds: “The official festival app developed by EE has everything you need to enhance your Glastonbury experience both on-site or at home.”

The app will also bring festivalgoers and BBC TV viewers the latest news from Worthy Farm and contains the latest updates from the Glastonbury Twitter feed.

It was due to be released on Monday, June 6 but first went live on the Google Play store yesterday.

The app was first available for iPhone users to download today (Wednesday, June 8).

Users who still have the 2019 Glastonbury app on their devices can update it to the new version.

The app is available to download on the Google Play Store and the Apple Store.
