EMERGENCY services tackled a car blaze at a petrol station near Norton Fitzwarren this morning (Thursday, December 1).
Police and fire crews were on the scene to deal with a car on fire at a BP petrol station on the A358 near Norton Fitzwarren.
Avon and Somerset Police said a road closure was in place while fire crews tackled the blaze.
A police spokesperson said: “At 8.35am today officers assisted the fire service with a road closure as it dealt with a car fire at a service station on the A358 near Norton Fitzwarren.
“The cordon was lifted approximately 20 minutes later after the fire was brought under control.”
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said:
"The fire involved one small private vehicle on the forecourt.
"The vehicle was 80 per cent damaged by fire.
"We used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, and small tools to put out the fire. One fire engine from Taunton attended the incident arriving at 8.30am and left at 9,29am. We left the vehicle in the hands of the owner."
The spokesperson also said the service has "no information about anyone being injured".
