A CAR fire on the M5 was extinguished by crew from Taunton Fire Station on Saturday.
Two fire engines attended the small vehicle fire on the hard shoulder of the M5 North, between Junctions 25 and 24, following reports from a passerby.
No injuries were reported. The car, of unknown make, was severely damaged.
The fire crew, from Taunton Blue Watch and On Call, used a thermal image camera and "edraulic" cutting equipment to extinguish the fire.
A post shared by Taunton Fire Station reads: "Two appliances from Taunton were mobilised following a report from a passerby of a car fire in the M5.
"On arrival at the scene crew confirmed one car on the hard shoulder involved in fire and got to work to extinguish.
"Crew extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus, two hose reels, one thermal image camera and edraulic cutting equipment. The car was severely damaged by fire."
