CONSERVATIVE party chairman Sir Patrick McLoughlin met supporters and council leaders during a flying visit to Taunton.
Sir Patrick, who was last in the town to boost Rebecca Pow's election campaign in 2015, praised her for increasing her majority in this year's poll and for her work to improve the prosperity of Taunton Deane.
Following the meeting at The Castle Hotel, he said: "It was great to spend time with the party members and council leaders of Taunton Deane. Listening to members' and colleagues' views is one of the most important parts of being party chairman."
Ms Pow said: "I was delighted to welcome Patrick and to update him on the great progress being made in Taunton Deane, particularly in terms of the funding that has been attracted for infrastructure projects."
