SOMERSET have announced the signing of 22-year-old batsman, Adam Hose has signed a 14 month contract.
Hose, a top order batsman who hails from the Isle of Wight, has impressed this season playing for the second XI - and in his six championship matches has scored 384 runs at an average of 45.50, with a best of 117.
Adam, who grew up playing through the Hampshire age groups has also done well in white ball cricket and scored 141 in a 50 over game against Surrey.
Somerset director of cricket, Matt Maynard said: “Adam has performed consistently well for the second XI all season and we believe that he deserves this opportunity.
“This contract will give us the chance to work with him during the winter and I look forward to seeing how he progresses in the next year.
“Adam was recommended to us by Mark Alleyne at the MCC and he is a really exciting prospect.”
Hose said: “I have been really impressed with the set up at Somerset since I have been involved with the Club and I’m thrilled to have been offered the chance to join them.”
