TAUNTON Town legend Owen Irish has paid tribute to the club as he confirmed he is leaving Wordsworth Drive.
The defender spent nine seasons with the Peacocks, making more than 300 appearances, after joining from Yeovil Town in 2008.
But the stalwart confirmed his departure with a Facebook post on Thursday, thanking the club and supporters for 'nine amazing years'.
"Thanks for all the messages of support, it really does mean a lot," he said.
"Unfortunately, with a very heavy heart I have decided that it is time to move on and pursuit a new challenge.
"I have had nine amazing years at Wordsworth Drive, being part of a team that was battling at the foot of the table, to table toppers.
"I have had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people along the way and have memories that will last forever - undoubtedly the FA Cup success last year being the pinnacle.
"The club has developed vastly both on and off the pitch and who knows what the future holds.
"I know that it’s not ideal that I am moving to Tiverton, however I am genuinely excited about what this offers.
"There are lots of different characters in football and it is a game of opinions, which has made my journey all that more special.

"However, there are unfortunately those who will do all they can to get themselves to the top.
"Such people divide teams and being a man of morals, I have decided to stay true (to) myself and this means more than testimonials.
"I will, however, not let such things sour the amazing years I have had and I sincerely wish the club, fans and players all the very best in the future.
"Thank you one last time and who knows what the future holds? Once a Peacock, always a Peacock."
