TAUNTON band Palooka 5 are going retro.
On June2, the group will be at the Creative Innovation Centre, Taunton hosting their third ‘Surf Garage Rock n Roll Night’.
The night will be celebrating the vinyl LP launch from the south west’s premier surf/rock combo ‘Palooka 5’.
Playing raw originals in a 1960’s surf style, they use vintage equipment to achieve a truly authentic 60’s sound. Always keen to put on a show, they have become a favourite on the South West Festival circuit.
The 8 track mini LP entitled ‘Rough Magic’ is released on ‘Fuelled By Cider Records’ and will be on sale at this gig and local independent record shops, plus CD and digital download.
Tickets £7 advance, from creativeinnovationcentre.
co.uk/events. £8 on the door. Doors open 7.30pm The night includes freakout films and visuals with support coming from Bristol’s freakbeat favourites ‘Joe James and the Pariahs’.
Fresh from another European tour, Joe and the boys will be whipping up their usual storm of 60’s psych and soul.
Joe will also be spinning original 45’s throughout the night.
