My mother, who will be 91 this month, grew up in Wellington, Somerset - she has lived most of her adult life in Wellington, Shropshire.
Her father, Philip Bendon, was an amateur carpenter.
One of the pieces he made was a fireguard featuring a galleon.
When Mum’s father died, the fireguard was sold.
Mum has always regretted that this decision was made.
She would love to know whether or not any current owner was willing to sell it to her, and where the fireguard is now.
I wondered whether there was any way of featuring my mother’s enquiry in the Somerset County Gazette.
Many thanks for your consideration.
