Betty REED

REED nee SWAN Betty Maria of Lydeard St Lawrence Betty slipped away very peacefully, with family at her bedside, at Stocks Hall Residential Home in Lancashire after a very brief chest infection which was not Covid related. It was a blessing that, despite the beginnings of dementia, she was still able to recognise family. Betty had moved North to be cared for by those who loved her after she was no longer able to continue living in her cottage at Lydeard St Lawrence in Somerset. As all who knew her will tell you, she overcame great adversity at a very early age to become, despite the challenges, a cheerful and fiercely independent lady for whom life was there to be lived. This she did resourcefully, always positively and sometimes with a surprisingly wicked sense of humour that took you off your guard. In the company of her beloved Brian during 54 years of marriage they accumulated a huge circle of sincere and lifelong friends who will now miss her greatly. Rest in Peace Betty, now that you are re-united with the husband you adored. You will be remembered fondly and sadly missed by Tony, Suzanne, Betty, Michael, David, Gordon and the rest of the family. Funeral Service Wednesday 3rd February 2021 West Lancashire Crematorium, Pippin St, Ormskirk L40 7SP Family flowers only please Donations to: St Margaret's Hospice, Heron Drive, Bishop's Hull, Taunton TA1 5HA
