DACEY David Died peacefully at Cushuish, his home for 63 years, on Tuesday 16th April 2024, aged 88 years. The Funeral Service will take place at the Church of St.Thomas of Canterbury, Cothelstone on Wednesday 15th May 2024 at 2.00pm. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of David, if desired, for Cothelstone Church, may be made by retiring collection or forwarded to Friendship & Sons Funeral Directors, 46-48 Ladymead Road, Taunton, TA2 6RS, 01823 618030. or donate online at www.friendshipandsons.co.uk

We were so sorry to hear about the death of David and, unfortunately, it was too late for us to arrange to attend the funeral. He was a valued member of staff at Bishops Lydeard primary school, during the eight years I was a school governor, and he taught all three of our children there. They all enjoyed his style of teaching. When we celebrated our 25th and 40th wedding anniversaries with barn dances, David was the 'caller' and he always made these evenings so enjoyable and memorable. No-one could ever believe how much energy and enthusiasm he put into these events! He will be missed. RIP David.

Very sad to hear of Davids Passing,I knew him from the day he came to Bishops Lydeard school , A wonderful teacher and man who remembered all our family , it was only a month ago that he said i could call him David ! after 60 odd years of calling him Mr Dacey ! I will sadly missing meeting him in the village shopping. our thoughts and prayers are with at this time. Chris Thorne &family
