THE Beech Class at Buckland St Mary Primary School were lucky enough to be treated to a visit to Mount Fancy Farm on Staple Hill.
Nigel Spring, of the Butterfly Conservation Trust, took them on an insect hunt to identify trees, and they built a fire, cooked bacon and played in the stream.
They had a fantastic day outdoors and even spotted the Highland cows and wild Exmoor ponies.
The youngsters are pictured in the woods next to their camp fire.
