PREPARATIONS are well underway for this year’s Christmas in the Square.

The event was set up nine years ago by Alison and Noel Prosser, who run the post office, to provide an event to celebrate Christmas and raise money for projects in the community at the same time.

The big day on December 16 will see evening celebrations including lights, a tree, mulled wine, hot pork rolls, a raffle and a band.

North Curry Singers will perform, and Alison said she hopes people in the village continue to support the day.

She said: “I set this up because I wanted it to be for the community and to raise money for whatever people wanted in the village.”

Last year’s event made £700 and this year funds will be raised for the playing fields and lights on the Christmas tree.
