EXPLORER Sir Ranulph Fiennes has been ordered to appear at Inverness Justice of Peace Court to face a speeding charge.
It is alleged the 68-year-old, from Exford, drove at 98mph in a 70mph zone at Daviot, south of Inverness, on June 20.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charge by letter but has been requested to be present at an intermediate hearing on January 9 next year.
Sir Ranulph, who was the first man to reach both North and South Poles by land, has had a trial set for February 1.
