SOMERSET County Council says the number of adoptions in the county soared from 27 in 2011/12 to 51 in 2012/13.
Cllr Frances Nicholson, cabinet member for children and families, said the rise followed a “massive response”
to the council’s campaign to find more people willing to adopt, but warned more were still needed.
