FIFTY students from Wellington School’s classics department visited Greece to gain first-hand experience of the millennia-old sites they have been learning about in lessons.
The year nine, ten and 11 students visited the Acropolis in Athens, where they marvelled at the Parthenon, the Theatre of Dionysus and other incredible sights.
They also visited the stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896, saw ancient silver mines at Laurion and experienced the sunset at Cape Sounion.
