TAUNTON Deane MP Jeremy Browne has spoken of his frustration at the slow progress of plans to regenerate Taunton town centre.
Speaking after a meeting with Taunton Deane Council development officer Brendan Cleere to discuss the town’s development, Mr Browne said: “The plans for the development of Taunton town centre are spectacular and I very much want them to become a reality. There is so much unrealised potential in areas like Firepool and Tangier.
"It is so frustrating that the progress with developing Taunton town centre has been so slow. "Some welcome changes have been made including the Somerset Museum and around the County Ground but there is still so much that needs to be done.”
He added: "What matters now is turning the visionary ideas into reality.
"We need to work with a clear timetable and resolve that the exciting improvements to Taunton town centre will gather momentum over the next few years and be completed by the end of the decade."
