A SEXUAL assault on a schoolgirl could be linked to two other attacks, police fear.
Officers are investigating to see whether the same man was responsible for all three incidents in Wellington.
In the latest attack, the 16-year-old was walking home from school when she spotted a man outside Asda.
He then followed her and “touched her inappropriately” in the alleyway near the junction of Bovet Street and Seymour Street.
The victim was shaken but not hurt in the incident at about 3.50pm on Wednesday last week.
PC Rob Wood said: “There have been a couple of other incidents in the early hours in the town and we’re not sure at this stage whether they are connected.”
The girl was unable to catch a glimpse of her attacker’s face, but she described him as about 5ft 7in or 5ft 8in tall with short dark hair.
He was wearing a hoodie, dark navy tracksuit bottoms possibly with one of more stripes, and trainers.
He was holding an Asda carrier bag in his right hand.
PC Wood has appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may know the identity of the culprit to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555111 quoting crime reference number 43038/14.
