A TEACHER who allegedly taped the mouths of pupils at Danesfield School in Williton has left.
Priscilla Davo Ortega was suspended following the incident on March 3.
The governing body of the Quantock Academy, which Danesfield is part of, has now sent a letter to parents which says: “Miss Ortega is no longer employed by the Academy”.
An independent external review was undertaken by authorities, including the safeguarding team at County Hall, following the incident.
The letter adds: “All investigations surrounding the matter have been completed.”
Sarah Gower, who says her son Aiden had his mouth taped, said: “I am really happy with the outcome – it has taken a while but I’m glad it has been resolved.
"It’s a relief for the children, as well.
"Aiden is fine now but it was horrible.”
- The announcement comes just two weeks after the academy head teacher, Ian Bradbury, resigned.
