A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital following a single vehicle collision this afternoon (July 20) at Wheddon Cross.
Two fire appliances from Minehead attended the incident as well as the rescue tender from Taunton just before 4pm.
The female, who was in a wheelchair, was trapped inside the vehicle which was on its roof after going down an embankment near South Wheddon Farm.
Crews secured the vehicle using tirfor winches before attempting to remove the casualty.
Paramedics worked alongside fire crews using a spinal board before the female was delivered to the air ambulance.
Duty of care was left with the police.
