THIS vibrant and colourful garden won a competition for Taunton Deane Council tenants in the Halcon area.
The competition, open to everyone in Lane, Lambrook and Halcon, was run by the Halcon One Team, which brings agencies and residents together to improve the area.
From the 20 entrants the winners and runners-up were: 1 Mr and Mrs Fowler, who won £150; 2 Mr and Mrs Hellard, £100; 3 Hayley and Roger Brauer, £50; 4 Mr Venton, £25.
Estates officer Lucy Hawkins, who helped with the competition, said: “It was lovely to come and look at the very best gardens in the area rather than having to inspect poorly kept gardens.
“All the entries were a credit to the residents and show people take a great pride in their surroundings.
“Thanks must go to the judges, Monkton Elm for sponsorship and the Tool Shed for donating garden tools.”
