TAUNTON Academy is ‘well-placed’ to improve its standards, according to Taunton Deane MP Jeremy Browne.
He dropped by to check on progress being made with raising students’ education standards and met principal Mark Trusson and watched youngsters in their classes.
Mr Browne said: “Taunton Academy had a disappointing OFSTED inspection last year and it is important it improves.
“There were obviously some difficulties with both the split site and the major building work taking place.
“Most of the work is now completed and Taunton Academy should now be in a position to flourish.
“The new buildings at Taunton Academy are excellent. There has been a huge investment in Taunton Academy and more money will be spent soon further upgrading some of the older buildings.
“There is also an obvious determination from the staff to provide high-quality teaching for the students.
“Taunton Academy is now well-placed to move forward and raise its standards. I want to see the young people from across north Taunton getting the best possible education.”
