A LUCKY Taunton motorist has driven away her dream car after entering a Halfords competition to win one of five Range Rover Evoques worth nearly £50,000.
Julie Smith, from Taunton, entered the competition after buying some oil from the Halfords store on Hankridge Way in the town and could scarcely believe her good fortune when she was invited to Halfords UK headquarters to collect her prize.
“I love the colour”, said Julie on receiving her keys. “I called into Halfords because the oil warning light on my car had come on and Dave from the store showed me how to check my levels. He also suggested that I enter the competition – and now I’m getting behind the wheel of my very own Range Rover.”
The Range Rover Evoque is one of the most stylish and desirable vehicles on the road today and when Halfords ordered five of the high spec 4x4 Dynamic models, with optional Lux packs, the competition prize became the biggest the company had ever offered – with a combined value of nearly £250,000.
The competition was created by Halfords to help raise awareness among customers that modern engine oil is now specific to individual vehicles and Julie was given also given a bottle of the correct oil for her Evoque as well as a goody bag of Halfords products including car wax and a weatherproof cover to help keep it in tip-top condition.
Louise Robinson, car maintenance category manager at Halfords, added: “It was an absolute pleasure to present Julie with her prize. She was clearly delighted with the car and we wish her many miles of happy motoring.”
