TAUNTON Deane MP Jeremy Browne has visited St James Church School, Taunton, to hear how it’s turned the corner.
He was shown around by head teacher Heather Cunningham, who was at Trull Primary School before joining St James, previously known as Archbishop Cranmer Primary School.
Mr Browne said: “The new school has been substantially changed with new leadership and new buildings.
“Heather Cunningham is an exceptional head teacher and she is demonstrating the value of having high-quality leadership in a school.
“It is so important that all children get the best opportunity to maximise their potential.
“I do not want any schools in Taunton Deane to be underperforming because the pupils need to get the best possible start in life.
“St James has turned a corner. They have more progress to make, but they are going strongly in the right direction.”
