CHEDDON Fitzpaine Parish Council hosted a fun sports day to celebrate the installation of new basketball nets.

The council, in conjunction with Knightstone Housing, brought the community together for a sporty day out to coincide with the installation of the nets, as well as new park benches next to the basketball court, located on the playing field behind Lyngford Park Primary School.

The Mayor of Taunton Deane, Cllr Dave Durdan, attended later in the afternoon to show his support.

Cheddon Fitzpaine Parish Council clerk Jo Pearson said: “The event went very well and those who participated enjoyed themselves.

“We hope to further build on the relationship with the agencies for future sports events.”
