A HORROR film shot in Somerset and set on the Levels will get its first public screening in the county this month.
As reported, filming of The Hatching took place at various locations across Somerset late last year, including Westonzoyland near Bridgwater, and pupils from King's Hall School in Taunton are among the extras.
Speaking at the time of the filming last year, director Michael Anderson described The Hatching as a “Hot Fuzz meets Jaws” comedy-horror, in which two hungry crocodiles pursue the locals of an idyllic English village.
He said: “My friend, Nick Squire, wrote the story and as soon as he said it was about crocodiles on the Somerset Levels, I thought 'brilliant!'
“I got married in Somerset and my brother lives here. The Levels are the perfect watery location for the film and local people love the idea.”
The film will be shown to the public for the first time on November 28, at The Ebenezer, in The Seed Factory in Aller, and Michael will be there to give a short introduction.
The Hatching stars Primeval's Andrew Lee-Potts alongside Laura Aikman (Casualty, Not Going Out) as the leads, while comedian Justin Lee-Collins takes a supporting role.
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
Tickets are £12.50 on the door, including a glass of wine.
