NATURALIST and broadcaster Simon King will be guest of honour at the Somerset Tourism Conference at Butlins in Minehead next week.
As well as receiving a presentation from Mr King, the conference will see the launch of a new business plan, and the unveiling of Somerset’s 2015 tourism brochure.
Ian Liddell-Grainger, MP for Bridgwater and West Somerset, will discuss the latest attempts to reduce VAT on tourism business, and First Great Western’s David Gardner will talk about plans to electrify the main South-West line.
Representatives of Somerset County Council and Visit England will also explain how Somerset fits into a wider tourism strategy, and businesses will be invited to sign up to Visit Somerset’s latest digital developments.
