POLICE are looking for someone to share their station near the centre of Taunton.

The Avon and Somerset Constabulary wants to let part of the landmark building in Shuttern for offices.

Anyone moving in would occupy the rear of the premises on a short term let.

The decision to rent out space comes after scores of officers and staff moved to the Express Park, in Bridgwater, where a custody suite has been established.

The force is eventually looking to sell the property.

Taunton Police had looked at moving out and possibly sharing offices with other organisations, including Taunton Deane and Somerset County Council. 

These discussions are ongoing.
