TAUNTON’s Soroptimist International is asking for all swimmers to come and take part in their 27th annual swimathon during the weekend of February 21-22, 2015.
The event, taking place at Taunton School, will be raising money for St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice, Ups and Downs South West, Benchmark and School in a Bag.
In the previous 26 years, Soroptimists have raised £562,000 and they are hopeful they can improve on last year’s tally of £21,000.
You don’t have to be a good swimmer to enter as you only need to be able to swim 50 metres – two lengths of the pool.
Teams of six will swim in relay fashion for 53 minutes in any style, so this really won’t take up too much of your time.
Everyone who participates gets a medal as well as the chance to win some trophies.
