NEARLY £1,500 has been donated to The Beacon Centre at Taunton’s Musgrove Park Hospital, in memory of a local cricketing legend.
Geoff Turner, of Manor Road, Taunton, died in August at the age of 70 after a long battle with cancer.
Geoff played for a number of sides locally from the 1970s through to the 2000s, and was a huge figure on and off the pitch at Taunton Deane Cricket Club.
Donations at his funeral raised £1,450 for The Beacon Centre, which treats cancer patients.
