THE LibDems will decide this weekend who they wish to stand as their candidate in the General Election in Taunton Deane next May.
A total of five people will battle it out at the party’s hustings for a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate on Saturday.
The shortlisted candidates are Gideon Amos, Justine Baker, Rachel Gilmour, Justine McGuinness and Martin Turner.
Returning officer Jo Dawson said there would be no comment from the party until the result is known.
The procedure to find a candidate was sparked by the announcement by LibDem MP Jeremy Browne that he is not standing again after two terms.
The other declared candidates in the General Election are Rebecca Pow (Conservative), Neil Guild (Labour), Laura Bailhache (UKIP), Clive Martin (Green Party) and Mike Rigby (Independent).
