A CHEQUE for £500 has been presented to Stoke St Gregory Baptist Chapel by local county councillor David Fothergill from his health and wellbeing fund.
The cheque was accepted by Ffrancgon Evans, who is 102 next month and who moved to the village from North Wales to be near his family eight years ago.
The money will be used by the church to improve access to the meeting rooms for people with mobility difficulties.
Mr Fothergill said: “It was a real pleasure to meet Ffrangcon and to present the cheque to him.
“It is so important that vital community facilities like meeting rooms at the baptist chapel are accessible to all and I was delighted to be able to help.”
